iOS 10 UK release date: When is iOS 10 coming out?
iOS 10 was announced and unveiled at WWDC 2016 in June, and was promptly released to app developers as a beta testing version, and shortly after to non-developer beta testers as part of the public beta. Since then Apple has steadily released updated beta versions of iOS 10.
This three/four-month gap between the iOS 10 announcement and its final public release gives developers a chance to squash any bugs and add any new features to their third-party iOS apps.
The iPhone 7 launch event included a final announcement from Apple about when the iOS update will drop, and it's 13 September. Read more: iPhone 7 review
The iPhone 7 will ship from 16 September, and will come pre-loaded with iOS 10. Existing iPhones and iPads will get the update slightly earlier on 13 September.
We think you'll need to wait until the afternoon or possibly evening on 13 September for iOS 10, though, and even then it's likely to take a long time to download as there will be millions of people across the globe trying to do the same.
